The first day in Beijing. Well, we were quite close to the Forbidden City, and we just didn't know how close, so we asked around and lo and behold, we're there before 45 minutes...by walking! To those who has not seen it, let me tell you this, it is a sight to behold! In front of Tiananmen with Mao Ze Dong. Believe it or not, many more are queuing up just to take photos from this location?
A little futher away, taken from the south of Tiananmen Square. By the way, it's so big, its the biggest in the world...the Square that is.
Another prime location, but this dude has to hog the spot.
Ahhhh, forgot what this gate is called, but it is the one before the Meridian Gate.
In the background is the Hall of Preserving Harmony. With a macro shot, I could've got a better shot, but....digicam bane.
And this is pretty damn BIG!!! The Hall of Great Harmony. The blue fences at the background right side keeps out visitors from interfering with restoration works on adjacent buildings.
The Inner Golden Stream, curved like a bow...
...connected by five bridges, with the middle one off limits to the common people. Only the Emporor is allowed to use it.
And to guard this national treasure, a contigent of guards right inside the Palace.
